## About the Campaign > *"The road goes ever on and on, down from the door where it began."* — J.R.R. Tolkien **Over Hill and Under Hill** is the starter-set adventure for **The One Ring 2e**, the official tabletop roleplaying game set in Middle-earth. This is a journey through the wild beauty and creeping shadow of Eriador — a land of ancient ruins, fading songs, and quiet courage. The adventure is designed as the perfect entry point for both new and returning players: - Pre-generated characters are available for those who want to jump straight into the story - The full character creation system is also available for those who wish to craft their own - No prior familiarity with The One Ring rules is required --- ## The Story So Far The adventure begins in the comfortable warmth of **The Prancing Pony** in Bree, on the eve of the Fell Year. An Unexpected Party is being gathered — a company of adventurers bound by a common purpose. The shadows of the Lone-lands are stirring, and the free folk of Eriador need those willing to walk the old roads. **Over Hill and Under Hill** includes: - The journey from Bree through the wilds of the Lone-lands - Strange encounters in ruined keeps and forgotten paths - The first hints of a darkness creeping from the south - A race against time to reach a destination that may already be lost --- ## What to Expect - **Journey-Focused Adventure:** Travel across detailed maps of Eriador with the unique Journey system from The One Ring 2e - **Grounded Fantasy:** Weathered stone, iron, cold ash, and the quiet threat of old places — no high-fantasy gloss - **Character-Driven Storytelling:** The Fellowship Phase allows your character to rest, heal, and pursue personal goals between adventures - **MELancholic, Folkloric Tone:** Inspired by the visual language of the TOR2e Starter Set — painterly, grounded, lived-in - **Foundry VTT Premium:** Custom maps, atmosphere, and automated rules support ### Visual Direction The campaign follows the Starter Set's painterly, restrained fantasy style: - **Palette:** Charcoal, cold blue-grey, weathered olive, peat brown, muted rust, dull bronze - **Texture:** Hand-painted digital illustration with visible brushwork - **Mood:** Melancholy, watchful, and historically lived-in --- ## The Party | Role | Description | |---|---| | **[Your Character Here]** | Create your own hero of Eriador — a Dwarf of the Blue Mountains, a Bard of the Dale-lands, a Woodman of Wilderland, or a Hobbit of the Shire | | **3 players** | The table is open for three more heroes to reach a full company of five | --- ## Frequently Asked Questions No!
